VietNamNet Bridge - The Vietnam Aviation Tourism Corporation (VATC) will apply new charges for the Sleep Pod services at the Noi Bai International Airport in Hanoi from April 15.

The maximum price for a single pod is VND120,000 ($5.8) per hour and VND130,000 ($6) for a double. The previous prices were VND210,000 ($10) for the first three hours for a single room and VND252,000 ($13) for a double room. The prices for another three hours are VND180,000-VND215,000.

The prices of the services in airports in Russia, Britain, Singapore, and the United States range from $10 to about $30 per hour, according to the Huffington Post.

The sleeping pod service was launched at Noi Bai Airport on July 22, 2014, but only three days later the Civil Aviation Administration of Vietnam (CAAV) inspected the service and suspended operations because it did not comply with existing regulations.

At the end of September 2014, Noi Bai Airport sent a report on the new service to the CAAV and asked the agency’s permission to resume the service. The CAAV approved the proposal.

The sleep pods are on the 3rd floor of T1 terminal hall.

Each sleep pod is 4m2 and 3m high, equipped with a bed, wardrobe, blanket, pillow, clothes hangers and alarm clock. Passengers are also served free drinks, snacks, and wireless Internet service.

There are 14 sleep-pods, including three single and 11 double pods.
