The journey will be organized by the founders of Besra, partners and friends who will ride the Honda 67 bike from Hanoi on April 10 for 2,000 kilometers to different tourist and historical sites in the Central and Central Highlands regions, including Phong Nha Cave, Khe Sanh, Hue City, Danang, Kon Tum, Nha Trang, Dalat and Phan Thiet before they reach their final stop in HCMC on May 1.
The participants of the three week-long journey will raise funds for a community project that Besra will carry out later this year in collaboration with the non-governmental organization East Meets West.
The three-year project aims at providing healthcare services for women and infants in Phu Ninh and Phuoc Son districts and training for local midwives to help reduce death and disability rates of babies.
Phu Ninh and Phuoc Son are the districts where Besra operates gold mines. The company has invested in Vietnam since 1993 through two joint ventures known as Bong Mieu Gold Mining Company Ltd. and Phuoc Son Gold Company Ltd.
