VietNamNet Bridge – The Hanoi-HCM City route was clear in the morning of September 9, after being blocked for one day because of a train derailment in the central province of Nghe An.

The train SE6 completely went off the tracks in Quynh Hoa commune, Nghe An in the early morning of September 9. Seven carriages jumped the tracks and then overturned while a 200m section of the railway was detached from the road surface. However, no one was injured in the incident.

All passengers on the train have been transferred to dozens of buses to continue their trip.

More than 100 workers and local officials were mobilized to fix the railway and put the seven carriages back onto the rails while it rained.

As the accident site is far from the road, it was very difficult to transport materials and machinery in downpour. Some specialized cranes were brought from Hanoi to Nghe An to load derailed carriages.

The local railway management agency said that a broken rail bar was the reason causing the accident.

Many trains were stuck for a day because of the accident.
