According to the National Centre for Hydro-meteorological Forecasting, the region is still experiencing severe cold weather today, December 25, with average temperatures of between 4-7 degrees Celsius in mountainous areas and 8-15 degrees in lowland areas.
The temperatures will start to increase from December 26 with lowest temperatures of between 8-11 degrees Celsius in mountainous areas and 13-16 degrees Celsius in lowland areas.
The warm, dry weather is forecasted to extend till December 31.
Meanwhile, central localities from Ha Tinh to Khanh Hoa will face heavy rain and thunderstorms throughout the week between December 26-31. The heavy rain may cause flash floods on small rivers and streams and landslides in mountainous areas.
