Some nursemaids of the Hoa Binh kindergarten in Thuan An town mistakenly fed the kids with a floor cleanser, defined as Chloramine, a powder pesticide, instead of cereal powder.

When kids refused the milk because of its bad smell, nursemaids mixed some more sugar and forced them to drink.

These kids, at 2-3 years old, were taken to the local hospital in the afternoon of July 29 after developing vomiting, fatigue and fainting, doctor said.

When many parents came to the preschool to pick up their children, they were upset to know that their children had been taken to the hospital due to health problems. They hurried to the hospital and found their children being treated in the emergency department.

After being given first aid, some left the hospital and some were transferred to the Children’s Hospital No. 1 in HCM City. All of them recovered one day later. Doctors said it was fortunate that the kids had just consumed a small amount of the toxin.

According to the Binh Duong Department of Education and Training, the school had operated without a license and did not meet the required standards for facilities and personnel. The local authorities have suspended the kindergarten.
