Obama stressed that the nation has added more than 2 million private sector jobs over the last 15 months alone.
However, a weak string of industrial production, job market and real estate market reports in recent weeks has sparked economic slowdown fears of the world's largest economy. The nation's unemployment rate rose to 9.1 percent in May.
"I'm still not satisfied. I will not be satisfied until everyone who wants a good job that offers some security has a good job that offers security. I won't be satisfied until the empty storefronts in town are open for business again," he noted.
Obama announced Monday that the nation is scheduled to train 10, 000 new American engineers every year, a fresh move to enrich the skilled workers pool and reduce the unemployment rate.
He called for joint efforts from the private sector, government, non-for-profits and academia to facilitate economic recovery.
