The burglar was a young man who worked as a building worker. He broke into a house near his workplace and intended to steal something.

The owner of the house was out, and the burglar was hungry so he found something to eat before taking property. He fried two eggs and ate them together with rice.

While he was having his meal, the owner of the house returned and caught him.

He admitted that he intended to take the Air Blade motorbike.

The owner of the house also discovered that previously the burglar had entered the house and taken a Wave motorbike.

The Tu Son Town Police is investigating the case.

It was such good luck for the household but a bad ending for the burglar as he tried to have his cake and eat it too.

Student escapes from ‘kidnappers'

A 16-year-old student in Vinh Long City in the southern province of Vinh Long returned home safely on Sunday after being missing for 10 days.

Earlier, her family received calls asking for ransom of VND30 million (US$1,300) and then VND25 million ($1,100) and then at last VND10 million ($400).

But her family told the police that they were too poor and could not prepare the money, and they asked the police to investigate.

Seven days after her family reported the case to the police, the student came home by herself, and told her family that she did not remember anything about what had happened to her.

Some local residents guessed that the girl went out with her friends and then asked someone to call her family for money.
