To celebrate the Year of the Monkey, farmers in Ben Tre Province have created monkey-shaped kumquat trees.
The price for a pair of monkey-shaped kumquat trees is VND4 million (nearly $200).
Only several gardeners in Cho Lach district of Ben Tre province
provide this kind of tree, with about 20 trees per garden. All of the
trees have been ordered in advance.

A farmer named Huynh Thanh Tam in Chau Thanh district, Ben Tre province creates coconut fruits with letters in the shell.
Tam said he prepared 300 coconuts of this kind for Tet, priced at VND300,000/coconut (nearly $15).
Many people believe that the display of such kind of coconut or wine
gourd-shaped watermelons in their homes during Tet will bring about good
luck.

Vietnamese farmers confirm that their special fruits don’t contain
harmful chemicals, so they can compete with Chinese God of Wealth-shaped
melons.
