VietNamNet Bridge - Thanh Hoa province offered two cannons and a bronze drum at the grave of late General Vo Nguyen Giap, on January 11, at Tho Mountain, Vung Chua, Quang Trach district, central Quang Binh province.

The 400 kg bronze drum was a replica of a Ngoc Lu bronze drum with a diameter of 103cm symbolising General Giap’s 103 years of life and a height of 91.1cm symbolising General Giap’s year of birth 1911.

The body of the drum features five images depicting his career – a photo taken with President Ho Chi Minh, his house in his homeland- Le Thuy, founding day of the Vietnam propaganda liberation army team, a national flag flying on General De Castries’ tunnel and a tank running into Independence Palace.

Two cannons weighing nearly 200kg each and a 65cm long sword was made according to a version of Dong Son bronze sword.

The gifts to mark one hundred days since the passing of the late General show the people’s continued love, respect and adoration for the legendary general.
