VietNamNet Bridge – Two men in Quang Tri province, central Vietnam, have been recognized as the oldest brothers in the country. They are 102 and 105 years old.

Mr. Tran Dinh Thang (born 1909) and his brother Tran Dinh Lien (born 1912) live in Dong Luat Village of Thai Vinh Commune, Vinh Linh District. Their younger sister, who is still alive, was born in 1916.

Both men’s wives died a long time ago. The only daughter of Mr. Thang is nearly 60 years old. Mr Lien has four children; the oldest is 72 years old.

They said that they were born and grew up in the countryside, so their lives are peaceful and serene. In addition, the environment and food are not contaminated so that might be the cause of their longevity.

Previously, the Vietnam Record Organization recognized Mrs. Nguyen Thi Tru (121 years old, HCM City) as the oldest woman and Mr. Y'N Dong, (116 years old, Dak Nong Province) as the oldest man in Vietnam.

Mr. Cao Vien (born 1908) and his wife, Mrs. Vu Thi Hai (born 1914) in Dien Chau district, Nghe An province have been recognized as the oldest married couple in Vietnam.

Mrs. Dinh Thi Xa (101 years) and Dinh Thi Long (93 years old) in Bien Hoa City, Dong Nai Province were recognized as the oldest sisters.
