VietNamNet Bridge – Y'N Dong, an ethnic Mo Nong man who is 116 years old, has been recognized by the Vietnam Record Organization as the oldest man in Vietnam.

He lives in Bon Jang Village, in Truong Xuan Commune, Dak Song District, Dak Nong Province. His birth year has been verified as 1898.

His health is very good. He can walk fast and has a sharp memory. His wife, Mrs. H'Doi, is 94 years old.

The couple has 14 children but only seven of them are alive. They have a total of 44 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.

"From birth, my life has been associated with farm work. I plant corn and rice in a traditional way, without science and technology. I also do not use medicine but I still live very well," he said.

A 121-year-old woman named Nguyen Thi Tru, from Da Phuoc Commune, Binh Chanh District, HCM City has been recognized as the oldest woman in Vietnam.

The Vietnam Records Organization is seeking the world record for Mrs. Tru as the oldest person in the world.
