Without Kien Quoc, Tran Tuan Quynh, the top male table-tennis player of Vietnam at present, is assigned to take a ticket to Olympic 2012 in London for Vietnamese table-tennis. Quynh has just promoted to the 244th position in the world ranking.
Tuan Quynh is a Hanoi player. In 2002, at the age of 19, he became the youngest champion in the history of the Southeast Asian Table-tennis Championships. One year later, he won a gold medal at the Southeast Asian Games.
Tuan Quynh and the men’s team of Hanoi have ruled the National Table-tennis Championships for years.
Today, February 2, Tuan Quynh and three other players – Quang Linh, My Trang and Viet Nam – will go to Thailand to compete at the Southeast Asian Table-tennis Champs 2012. This is a chance for Quynh to get a ticket to the Olympic if he is the champion at this event.
“At this tournament, my biggest rivals are players from Singapore,” Quynh said on February 1.
The two top players of this event will get tickets to the Olympic 2012. The tournament will open on February 4.
