A programme entitled ‘Light up the faith in victory’ was announced at a press brief in Hanoi on May 14, aiming to raise an on-site bonus fund for the Vietnamese athletes who perform outstandingly at the 28th Southeast Asian (SEA) Games, scheduled to take place in Singapore from June 5 to 16.
The event has been successfully co-organised by the Vietnam Sport Newspaper and the Vietnam sports delegation at recent SEA Games, with the objective of mobilising enterprises and donators to accompany Vietnamese athletes and provide support, driving them to try their best.
At the conference, Tran Duc Phan, Deputy Director of the General Department of Sports and Physical Training and head of the Vietnam contingent to the 28th SEA Games, signed sponsorship contracts with the Nguyen Kim Trading Joint Stock Company and the Vietjet Aviation Joint Stock Company (Vietjet Air) for the fund.
Accordingly, the Nguyen Kim company will present a 40-inch LED television to each of Vietnam’s gold medallists in Singapore in both the individual and team events, while Vietjet Air will offer outstanding SEA Games athletes 130 round-trip tickets for domestic flights, equivalent to VND1.1 billion (US$50,600).
In addition, Chairman of the Hoa Binh Corporation Nguyen Huu Duong also pledged to present a motorbike worth VND20 million to each of the Vietnamese gold medallist at this year’s SEA Games.
The gala ‘Light up the faith in victory’ will also be held in Ho Chi Minh City on May 27 to continue mobilising support from enterprises and donators to the Vietnam sports delegation.
