VietNamNet Bridge – The police have arrested Oceanbank’s deputy director Nguyen Xuan Thang, 36, for investigation, according to the government portal. He is the third official of the bank to be arrested for alleged violations of lending operations .

The Investigative Police Agency (C46) of the Ministry of Public Security is investigating the case of Oceanbank’s former chairman Ha Van Tham as well for violating regulations of credit institutions.

Based on investigation results, on March 9 the agency issued a decision on the prosecution and arrest of Thang, who is in charge of Oceanbank’s big clients and strategic partners, for "intentionally violating the State's regulations on economic management causing serious consequences," defined in Article 165 of the Criminal Code.

On March 12 the Supreme People's Procuratorate approved the decision and Thang was arrested on the same day. His home and office in Hanoi were also searched.
