VietNamNet Bridge – The four channels of online marketing, namely social networks, mobile devices, automated ad networks and searching ads are believed to become the bigger choice than other advertisement modes, under which ad fees are charged based on the real time use (weekly, monthly or yearly).

The online marketing market in Vietnam is still in the infancy, but experts all have agreed that the market would develop very quickly in the time to come, since all the favorable conditions for the market development have been gathered.

The strong development of the social network users’ community would help encourage marketers to use this method to popularize their products.

A report showed that by September 2012, Vietnam had had 13.1 million Youtube users. Meanwhile, the number of Facebook users in Vietnam had reached 9,117,480 by October 24, an increase of 5,479,000 users in the last six months. About 30,000 Vietnamese people join Facebook every day.

The report has also found out most of the Vietnamese Facebook users are those aged 18-24 and 25-34. These are also the two groups of clients which have seen the highest joining rates. Especially, they are the two groups of consumers who have the highest shopping demand and highest payment capability.

Placing ad pieces on mobile phones and mobile devices is also believed to heat up in the time to come--owing to the increase in the number of people accessing Internet with their mobile devices.

Netcitizens report by Cimigo, a market survey firm showed that in 2012, 56 percent of Internet users make Internet access from their mobile devices, while the figure was more modest in 2011, just 27 percent.

The smart phone price decrease and the continued Internet service fee decreases both are believed to help raise the number of people accessing Internet from their mobile devices.

Meanwhile, in the eyes of marketers, it is more effective to post ad pieces on mobile devices than to deliver ad pieces via messages. It’s simply because SMS always set restrictions in the numbers of words, while images cannot be transferred.

Therefore, advertising on content networks, games, and the apps for smart phones have been highly appreciated by marketers as the marketing channels which allow to access clients anywhere and at any time.

The year 2012 witnesses the “inundation” of the ads through automated ad network on Vietnamese websites. The concepts of CPC, which charges ad fees on every mouse click, CPM, which charges fee on every 1000 ad displays, first appeared on Google and Facebook. Then a lot of well-known advertisers such as Ambient, Vat gia, Moore, Admicro, Netlink have also jumped into the automated ad market.

Most recently, the market witnessed the appearance of Novanet of NovaAds, a contextual advertising form, which has provided more choices to the automated ad market.

Experts believe that in 2013, the online marketing market would begin seeing the gradual disappearance of the mode of ads which charges fees per day, week or month. Meanwhile, the automated ad network would be dominant thanks to its great advantages.

Automated ad networks allow enterprises to book positions for their ad pieces on many different websites at once, and more exactly measure the efficiency, if compared with the advertisement with banners.

Search ads have been predicted to remain a favorite by clients, because accessing to searching networks remain one of the two most popular online activities of people.

According to Cimigo, 94 percent of Internet users in 2012 used Internet to access to Google searching website, while the figure was 92 percent in 2011.

Searching for information is now considered the second most regular activity in humans’ activities (the first one is reading news). Therefore, posting ad pieces on the first websites in Google search would remain the biggest choice of enterprises.
