VietNamNet Bridge – “With only seven minutes, I don’t have time to mention good things but only the problems that the people want to raise before the government,” said deputy Duong Trung Quoc (photo) before the National Assembly’s question and answer session.

He said that he only asked cabinet members about problems because he didn’t have enough time.

The Prime Minister’s presentation is always the most important part in the question and answer session. As National Assembly Chair Nguyen Phu Trong said, the Prime Minister will clarify theissues that Ministers can’t make clear.

Deputy Nguyen Minh Thuyet, who sent three questions to Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung, said: “If the Prime Minister’s written answers are proper and convincing, I will not question him directly anymore. But I need to question him about issues that are not clear because that’s the responsibility of a deputy and it is an opportunity for the Prime Minister to answer the people’s questions”.

Deputy Nguyen Dinh Xuan said if his question about hydro power plants in the Mekong River to Ministers is not answered properly, he will ask the Prime Minister.

“I don’t often send questions to the Prime Minister in advance, but I raise direct questions following the developments at the question and answer session,” deputy Duong Trung Quoc said.

Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung will be the last cabinet member questioned by the National Assembly, after the Ministers of Industry and Trade, Health, Finance and Transport.

Deputy Le Nhu Tien from Quang Tri province said that he hoped that the Prime Minister will show the role of a “conductor” in the upcoming question and answer meeting.

“The conductor conducts and coordinates the entire orchestra. If the orchestra makes mistakes, the conductor must point out the poor instrumentalists,” Tien compared.

A good conductor can’t try alone but has to help all instrumentalists to play well.
