VietNamNet Bridge – A ceremony was held at the Au Co theater in Hanoi on November 14 to honour 23 students who won medals at international and regional Olympiad competitions.



Speaking at the ceremony, Minister of Education and Training Pham Vu Luan said this is a sign of positive progress in the educational sector.


The State and society always provide the best conditions for students to study well, he said.


The medal winners received certificates of merit from the Prime Minister and credit cards worth VND3 million each from the Vietnam International Bank (VIB).


The two bronze medalists at the International Physics Olympiad (IPhO) Nguyen Hoanh Dao and Vu Thi Ngoc Oanh, shared their experiences at the contest.


On the occasion, 26 teachers were also awarded the certificates of merits for their work in selecting and nurturing young talent for these international competitions.


Earlier, the students offered incense at the Temple of Literature, the Thang Long Royal Citadel, the temple of Kings Ding and King Le and Bai Dinh pagoda, and presented gifts to disadvantaged children and children affected by Agent Orange at the SOS villages in Hanoi.
