German-Vietnamese gymnast Marcel Nguyen has scored 91,031 to bag a silver medal in the Artistic Gymnastics men's Individual All-Around event at the London 2012 Olympics.

First place went to Japan’s Kohei Uchimora, who received 92,690 points for his outstanding performance, while Danell Leyva made bronze at just under two points off the lead.
This is the only medal that the German gymnastic team has won in the event since the Berlin 1936 Olympics.
Born in Munich in 1987 to a Vietnamese father and German mother, Nguyen started training gymnastics when he was four years old. Three years later, he joined the TSV Unterhaching Club and soon became its key member.
In 2005, he won the German Artistic Gymnastics Championships’ Parallel Bars event.
In the previous Summer Games in Beijing four years ago, he performed well to help Germany rank 4th in the men’s team event.
Last May, Nguyen dominated the 30th European Championships Artistic Gymnastics’ Parallel Bars event to bring in the only gold medal for the German team.
