This round disbursed more than VND248 billion - equivalent to over $10 million - to a total of 42,525 bondholders.
This latest payout follows seven earlier rounds of compensation, which cumulatively exceeded VND10 trillion ($408 million). The payments are part of the execution of judgments from the criminal trial related to Truong My Lan, Chairwoman of Van Thinh Phat Group.
For 583 bondholders who have not yet provided their bank account information, the funds have been deposited into savings accounts as per legal procedure, awaiting claim.
Additionally, on February 2, the HCM City Civil Judgment Enforcement Department carried out supplementary payments for bondholders who had transferred their execution rights or completed their information submissions during previous disbursement rounds (1 through 7).
The agency also confirmed that legal fees and potential exemptions or reductions in accordance with Article 60 of the Law on Civil Judgment Enforcement and Circular 216/2016/TT-BTC have been applied.
Currently, the HCM City Civil Judgment Enforcement Department is continuing work on asset verification, valuation, and mapping, targeting properties owned by Truong My Lan and others obligated to compensate under court rulings. The agency has also requested that SCB release funds frozen under verdicts from both trial and appellate proceedings.
Once additional assets are liquidated and transferred, further disbursement rounds will be organized to ensure restitution for all victims.
