A study of Bkav in 2014 also showed that about 40% of the websites of key agencies and large enterprises of Vietnam had security gaps. One of the causes of this situation is the lack of assessment processes and experiences about safe programming.

At the 2015 World Security Conference in March, Colonel Nguyen Van Thinh, Deputy Director of Cyber Security Department of the Ministry of Public Security, said in 2014, the Ministry of Public Security detected nearly 6,000 Vietnamese websites being attacked and controlled by hackers, including 246 websites with domain names gov.vn.

BKAV’s Tuan Anh said that network security experts in Vietnam were weak.

On May 12 BKAV launched a two-month online training program BCSE WhiteHat on network security, the first of its kind in Vietnam, allowing thousands of students to study at the same time.

BKAV will present a scholarship to the department of information and communications of 63 provinces in Vietnam and to enterprises having 1,000 computers or more. They can register for the course at BCSE.vn/dangky before May 31.
