VietNamNet Bridge - After the dinner, more than 40 tourists at Cao Nguyen Hotel on the coast of Hai Hoa Commune, Tinh Gia District, Thanh Hoa Province were hospitalized, with the symptoms of food poisoning.

Dr. Dau Duc Hoang, Head of the Ward for Tropical Diseases of the Tinh Gia District Hospital, told VietNamNet that on the morning of July 15, the hospital received about 40 patients who were taken to the hospital with symptoms of food poisoning such as stomachache, diarrhea, vomiting...

The patients are employees of FCC Vietnam Co. Ltd, in Thang Long Industrial Park, Hanoi, who were on a vacation in Hai Hoa.

Mr. Nguyen Thanh Trung, administrative officer of FCC Vietnam said the company's over 100 employees arrived at Hai Hoa beach on July 14. They took dinner at a coastal restaurant. At about 3 am on July 15, some people began having stomachaches, moving their bowels and vomiting. They were taken to the local clinic for treatment but the symptoms got more serious so they were transferred to Tinh Gia District Hospital.

A patient at the hospital said: "After the dinner, I still felt good. We walked along the coast to get fresh air. During the walk we did not eat anything else. At around 2 am, I suddenly got a fierce stomachache. Many people in the group had the same symptoms."

The next morning, many others also suffered from the same symptoms after the breakfast and were hospitalized.

By about 10am on July 15, some more patients were brought to the hospital, including nine employees of the veterinary station of Hai Ba Trung District, Hanoi.

Dr. Hoang confirmed that all of the patients got food poisoning.

The cause of poisoning cases is being clarified.
