VietNamNet Bridge – A 34-month-old child was taken to the Quang Nam Province Polyclinic’s emergency ward on October 1, with ileus.
The child, Tran Van Dat, from Tam Tra commune, Nui Thanh district, in the central province of Quang Nam, was diagnosed with ileus, caused by a large volume of worms.
Doctors conducted an operation to take out over 300 worms, totaling more than 0.5 kilo from the boy’s stomach.
This is the patient with the highest volume of worms in the stomach in Quang Nam for many years.
The boy has recovered and he will leave the hospital this week.
