Conductor Le Phi Phi will perform in two concerts to raise fund for the Light Your Hope Scholarship Foundation, starting tonight at the HCM City Opera House.

The second show will take place on Wednesday at the Ha Noi Opera House, with both expected to draw big crowds. The spectacle will be a complete artistry programme, offering a harmony between classic opera and rock ballads.

Immortal melodies performed will include Air (Johann Sebastien Bach), Song of Sanctuary (Karl Jenkins), My Heart Will Go On (James Horner), Storm from The Four Seasons (Antonio Vivaldi), Conquest of Paradise (Vangelis), Yellow Submarine (The Beatles) and Hungarian Dance No 5 (Johannes Brahms).

Celebrating the 6th year of the foundation's establishment, the programme is a thanks-giving event for every sponsor that has assisted the foundation over the years, while at the same time organisers will call for continuing help so that the society can assist even more poor children. To date, the fund has raised VND10 billion (US$470,000).

Phi graduated from Ha Noi Academy of Music in 1986, then continued studying up as an orchestra conductor in Moscow. Talking about the upcoming concerts, he said: "Coming to Hope Symphony, not only me, but most of us, want to burn out with the music culture and particularly to blend the tone with the heart beats of ourselves. The heart fluttering will awaken the hidden humanity, to share, to join hands for our future Viet Nam."

Phi has performed with many orchestras throughout the world. Now, he works as a professor and conductor at the Opera and Ballet Centre Llija Nikolovsski-Lui of Macedonia. For tickets, please call 098 263 1984.
