The Vietnamese Embassy in the US on January 10 hosted a New Year programme with theparticipation of about 250 Vietnamese and international friends.
Inhis remarks, Vietnamese Ambassador Ha Kim Ngoc lauded contributions of theVietnamese community in the US to the host country, as well as to theirhomeland’s development and national sovereignty protection, and the Vietnam-UScomprehensive partnership.
Hetook the occasion to thank international friends for their support andsentiments towards Vietnam’s national construction and defence, and relationsbetween Vietnam and the US and international organisations.
Gueststo the event were treated to special art performances, along with traditionaldishes from different regions of Vietnam.
Asimilar event was held by the Vietnamese Consulate General in Australia’s NewSouth Wales, Queensland and South Australia on January 11.
Addressingoverseas Vietnamese and foreign friends, Vietnamese Consul General Trinh DucHai highlighted the development of the Vietnam-Australia strategic partnershipin 2019, saying the two countries have become trustworthy partners and have sharedlong-term and strategic interests.
Hesaid in early 2020 when many Australian areas have been ravaged by wildfires, overseasVietnamese in the country have promptly raised funds to support affectedresidents.
Meanwhile,the association of Vietnamese-Thai people in Bangkok coordinated with theVietnamese Embassy in Thailand to organise a get-together on January 11 tocelebrate the Tet festival.

Prominentamong the guests at the event was Thai Deputy Prime Minister and CommerceMinister Jurin Laksanawisit.
VietnameseAmbassador Nguyen Hai Bang reviewed the fruitful cooperation between Vietnamand Thailand in 2019, saying the two countries have become leading partners intrade and investment.
Heattributed the thriving relations to contributions of Thai people of Vietnameseorigin.
Theambassador thanked local authorities for their incentives to Vietnamese,helping them work and live stably in the host country./.VNA
