VietNamNet Bridge – Executive manager of Nhom Mua Company, Tom Tran, is under investigation by the police for suspicious signs in management, thereby causing losses for shareholders.

On November 13, the Board of Management of Nhom Mua announced its decision to appoint Mr. Kyle Pham, an Australian Vietnamese, to replace Tom Tran, the founder of the company, who left Vietnam last week.

Founded in October 2010, nhommua.com has nearly 4 million visitors every month. It also has about 900 employees working in Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, Hai Phong and Can Tho.

According to Nhom Mua’s media representative, the police conducted the investigation based on the request of a group of shareholders, who accused Tom Tran of having suspicious signs in management, thereby causing losses to shareholders. The investigation is being carried out so the police have not made any specific statement.

In Vietnam, nhommua.com is a website operating in the form of Groupon (buying discount goods in group).

In other developments, in the morning on November 13, some people and guards appeared at the office and warehouse of Nhom Mua at No. 85 Xa Lo Ha Noi Highway in Thao Dien Ward, District 2, Ho Chi Minh City. Many employees were permitted to go home early. It is said that these people came to check the office and warehouse of Nhom Mua.

In Hanoi, Nhom Mua office at No. 50 Nguyen Khuyen did not receive customers on November 13.

Nhom Mua’s website was inaccessible the same day. Some websites of MJ Group, the parent company of Nhom Mua like Kay.vn, Zap.vn, Hungry.vn were also in a similar situation.
