Hang emphasized the importance of the event, particularly as the overseas Vietnamese community seeks to contribute to the nation's aspirations for prosperity and happiness. The conference aims to disseminate information about the Party's guidelines, State policies, and laws relevant to overseas Vietnamese. It also provides a platform for domestic agencies to understand the situation, desires, and challenges faced by the overseas Vietnamese community, thereby enhancing support and care for them.

The conference will serve as a forum for overseas Vietnamese, particularly intellectuals and entrepreneurs, to contribute ideas for national development in the current context. It will foster connections between overseas Vietnamese businessmen, experts, and domestic entities, including local businesses, research institutions, and technology transfer centers. Additionally, it aims to promote investment by expatriates and establish a global innovation network.

Deputy Minister Hang announced that the Forum for Vietnamese Intellectuals and Experts Abroad will feature four thematic sessions:

1. "Overseas Vietnamese and the Development of High Technology in Vietnam"

2. "Overseas Vietnamese Businesses and Businesspeople Accompanying the Nation"

3. "National Solidarity, Community Work, and the Role of Young Overseas Vietnamese"

4. "Overseas Vietnamese - Cultural and Linguistic Ambassadors of Vietnam"

The conference will also include field trips, meetings, and exchanges with local businesses and authorities.

The Global Vietnamese Conference has been held three times previously, in 2009, 2012, and 2016, each receiving significant attention and high praise from senior leaders, ministries, localities, and the overseas Vietnamese community.

Alongside the conference, the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese will organize the Vietnam Summer Camp 2024 in collaboration with relevant agencies. The camp will welcome 120 delegates aged 16-24, comprising students and young Vietnamese from abroad. Participants will engage in various activities, including visits to historical sites, cultural landmarks, traditional cultural experiences, cultural and sports exchanges, and social charity activities. They will also honor the ancestors and war heroes.

Vietnam Summer Camp 2024 will take place from July 14-29 across many provinces in the North, Central, and South regions, starting in Hanoi and concluding in Ho Chi Minh City.
