VietNamNet Bridge – The Literature Publishing House yesterday (March 15) introduced overseas Vietnamese writer Mai Lam’s three-book collection titled Tu Xa Ha Noi (Ha Noi From Afar).

Mai Lam, 65, has been resettled in Germany for nearly 30 years. He wrote the collection to express his love and miss of his Ha Noi nativeland.

Among nearly hundreds of Lam’s literature proses, he expressed a harassing longing of Ha Noi with deep memories such as corners of the city, his friends, his family and Hanoians’customs and habits.

Nguyen Anh Vu, director of the LPH said, "Lam’s drafts are so interesting that I read it through the night and quickly decided to publish it."

"I like Lam’s books because he is among very few authors writing about old Ha Noi and Vietnamese abroad so trusted and lively compared with others," Vu said.

Writer Nguyen Van Tho said Lam helps to speak out overseas Vietnamese’s inmost feelings towards the nation.

Reader Nguyen Van Long, 60, said, "I saw myself and my generation in Lam’s books. Thanks him a lot."

Lam’s collection includes Tu Xa Ha Noi (published in 2014), Xa Roi Ngay Xanh (Far from Green Days, 2015) and Chi Con Tuyet Trang (Only White Snow Remained, 2016).

Lam graduated from the Viet Nam Music Conservatory now National Academy of Music in 1971 and resettled in Germany since 1987.

Apart from books, his albums Ha Noi Mua Thu Som (Ha Noi’s Early Autumn) and Tu Xa Ha Noi have also been published in Viet Nam.
