More than 60 illustrations from a newly-released picture book titled Mot Ngay Cua Bo went on display on Tuesday in Ha Noi.

The pictures by Thai My Phuong and stories by Thu Nho reflect an ordinary day of a father who is busy with his children and office work. Before going to work he takes his children to school and, at the end of the day, brings them home.

Critic Pham Xuan Nguyen said he was attracted by the lively paintings and humorous poems.

"The paintings express family sentiments and fatherhood through the innocent eyes of children," he said. "Every father can find a part of himself in this book.

"While picture books are popular in Thailand, Japan and South Korea, there are few in Viet Nam," Nguyen said.

The exhibition will run until the end of this month at the L'Espace, 24 Trang Tien Street, Ha Noi.

The 66-page book costs VND60,000 (US$3).
