The Dam Trau area in Bach Dang Ward, Hai Ba Trung District, Hanoi, is facing significant disruptions as numerous cars park haphazardly throughout the neighborhood, blocking traffic and affecting residents' daily lives.

On the morning of October 16, a VietNamNet reporter observed the situation in several alleys of the Dam Trau area, where cars were parked along the streets and sidewalks. At the end of row A5, four cars took up nearly the entire road, preventing other vehicles from passing.

The vehicles were parked in rows, often blocking intersections and making it impossible for other cars to move.

One resident of row A6 in Dam Trau expressed concern, saying, "If there's a fire, fire trucks won’t be able to reach the area. It’s even worse in the evening when more cars are parked. In case of an emergency, how will the fire truck get through?"

In some cases, car owners parked their vehicles sideways to save space, further narrowing the roads.

Despite the installation of "No Parking" signs by local authorities on the main streets of the neighborhood, many vehicles continued to park illegally. Some signs were even defaced with black spray paint.

Cars are parked in the alleys of the Dam Trau area for extended periods, with many owners even carefully covering them with tarps as if they were in their own yards.

Due to cars being parked haphazardly and blocking doorways, many warning signs and obstacles have been set up by residents on the streets to prevent further parking.

In response to the chaos, residents have resorted to placing warning signs and obstacles in front of their homes in an effort to prevent cars from blocking their doors.

A man living in row B14 said that since he couldn’t ask the drivers to move, he had to put potted plants on the street to keep the path clear.

The issue has persisted for years, with residents expressing frustration over the lack of enforcement. Some car owners leave their vehicles parked in the area for long periods, even covering them with tarps as if parking on private property.

"Many people have been parking their cars here for years without any regulation, making it difficult for us to move around," said Mrs. N.T.Q., a resident of row A13. "We hope the authorities will step in to resolve this issue once and for all, ensuring a clear path and safety for everyone."
