VietNamNet Bridge – The Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee (CPVCC), 10th tenure, opened its 14th meeting on December 13 with a focus on the discussion of draft documents for the coming 11th Party National Congress.

The meeting will also approve a report on the leadership of the Party Central Committee's 10th tenure and the implementation of the working regulations of the CPVCC, the Politburo, and the Party’s Secretariat. Especially, personnel plan for the 11th Central Committee will be included.

Addressing the opening, Party General Secretary Nong Duc Manh said the meeting was an important pre-stage for the Party's 11 National Congress.

Regarding draft documents to be proposed at the Congress, Mr. Manh said, under the decision of the 13 meeting, the Politburo announced a draft political program on national construction in the transitional period to socialism, the draft version of the Political Report which will be presented to the 11 Party Congress and the Socio-economic Strategy 2011-2020 and tens of thousands of opinions from organizations, staff, Party members, National Assembly deputies, and people all over the country which were collected or sent to the CPVCC Office.

The ideas all featured the great responsibility for the development of the Party and country, he said, adding that the Politburo will send them to the Party Central Committee to complete the documents.

On review of the leadership of the Central Committee and its working regulations, Mr. Manh emphasised that the CPVCC, Politburo, and Secretariat expressed a strong political spirit, responsibility, and great unity in promoting the renewal process and upholding the strength of the great national unity bloc by the resolution adopted at the Party’s 10th National Congress.

The Party has also introduced effective measures to deal with complicated problems related to socio-economics, defence, security, and foreign affairs; build and strengthen the Party organization, he said. The Party also overcame difficulties and challenges caused by the global economic crisis to stabilize the macro-economy and ensure social welfare and improved the leadership of the Party, the government, the Vietnam Fatherland Front, and mass organizations.

Regarding the personnel structures for the 11th party's congress, the Party leader said that based on the outcomes of the 13th meeting, the Politburo had asked the CPVCC to consider specific individuals at this meeting before proposing to the 11th National Congress.

The General Secretary asked CPVCC members to uphold the democratic spirit to contribute to the success of the 11th National Congress.

The 14th meeting is scheduled to close on December 21.
