VietNamNet Bridge – Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong was among the newly-elected National Assembly deputies of Ha Noi who gathered yesterday, July 20, for the first time after the election on May 22.

Trong told the gathering that the success of the last National Assembly tenure greatly contributed to the nation's socio-economic development.

He also said he believed that Ha Noi's NA delegation, comprised of many intellectuals, scientists and enterprises, should share a lot of initiatives and ideas, including law building, supervision of socio-economic development and meeting with voters.

Chairwoman of Ha Noi People's Council, Ngo Thi Doan Thanh said the first task each NA deputy needed to address was a careful study of the regulations that stipulated their functions and assignments.

They were also encouraged to host a meeting with local voters to tackle complaints and denunciations, then share them with deputies from other delegations.

All the deputies begin their first session of the 13th NA tenure in Ha Noi today.
