On the occasion, the two Party leaders witnessed the signing of a number of important cooperation documents including a cooperation plan between the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) and the Communist Party of China (CPC); a five-year plan for economic and investment cooperation between the two Governments in the 2012-2016 period; an agreement between the two Ministries of Education and Training; a protocol on amendments to the Road Transport Agreement (RTA), and a Government protocol for implementing the RTA.
Earlier, during talks with Party leader Trong, chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress (NPC), Wu Bangguo, praised Mr Trong’s first visit to China as Party General Secretary and congratulated Vietnam on its successful 11th National Party Congress.

He said he hopes that Party leader Trong’s visit will be a great success, helping to promote cooperation between the two countries.
Mr Trong said Vietnam always attaches great importance to strengthening the ties of comprehensive cooperation and friendship with China which have been fostered by many generations in both countries.
The two National Assemblies will continue working on specific cooperation programmes to enhance cooperation between the two Parties and peoples.
Mr Hu Jintao will host a banquet in honour of Party leader Nguyen Phu Trong and his delegation the evening of the same day.
