The head of the Party Central Committee’s Commission for External Relations, Hoang Binh Quan held talks with his Lao counterpart Thoonglun Sisulith in Hanoi on March 4 to seek ways to enhance the partnership between the two commissions in the future.

Thoonglun Sisulith, who is a Politburo member of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party and Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Laos, thanked the Vietnamese side for the warm welcome, while expressing his pleasure to visit Vietnam in the first days of the Lunar New Year.

Quan hailed the three-day visit of the Lao delegation, saying that it will contribute to furthering the comprehensive cooperation between the two commissions as well as the special ties between the two countries.

During the talks, both sides updated each other on the situation of their respective Parties and countries, while discussing specific measures and orientations to effectively realise agreements reached by senior leaders of the two Parties and States.

They also touched upon regional and international issues of mutual concern.
