The couple had donated 5,147 tael of gold (6,862 ounces) to the interim Government of the Democratic Republic of Viet Nam in 1945.

At that time, the amount of gold that Ho and her husband donated had nearly doubled the Government’s treasury.

Additionally, Ho and Bo also received a delegation of the interim Government, who travelled from the Viet Bac war zone to their house in No 48 Hang Ngang Street, Ha Noi, to lead the nation’s August Revolution 1945. But at that time, the couple did not know the delegation, including President Ho Chi Minh and senior officials of the Government.

President Ho Chi Minh had compiled the Declaration of Independence to establish the Democratic Republic of Viet Nam in 1945 at the house.

Later, Ho and her husband also donated their house in No 48 Hang Ngang Street to the Government as a revolutionary historical relic site.

Ho married Bo in 1932 and they inherited a silk store called Phuc Loi from her husband’s parents – one of the major silk stores in the country at that time.

Therefore, the couple provided almost all the clothes that officials wore during the Independence Day in 1945.

Ho and Bo were awarded the Order of Independence, first class, from the State for their contribution to the State.

Bo passed away in 1988. In 2014, the Ministry of Finance published a book "Trinh Văn Bô and his contribution to the national revolution’s finance sector" on the occasion of 100th anniversary of Ho’s birthday.
