VietNamNet Bridge - The Ministry of Education and Training (MOET) estimates that 40,264 teachers will become redundant when Vietnam applies the new general education program.

Phung Xuan Nha, Minister of Education and Training, made some impressive statements in 2017, showing his strong commitment towards reform of Vietnam education.

The Ministry of Education & Training (MOET) has vowed to improve the quality of teachers by setting up a minimum admission mark for pedagogical schools, but education experts do not think the measure will help. 

VietNamNet Bridge - Even after accepting students with low entrance exam scores, pedagogical schools are continuing to see a drop in enrollment.

 VietNamNet Bridge – The country must reform pedagogical schools so future teachers can keep up with changes in education requirements, Deputy Minister of Education and Training Nguyen Vinh Hien said.

Local education and training departments have noted the sharp increase in the number of the students registering to attend the exams to pedagogical schools.

A lot of schools enroll students for pedagogical training majors, but not all of them can produce qualified teachers.
