VietNamNet Bridge – Pencak silat martial artists grabbed six gold medals at the SEA Games yesterday, Nov 17.


The medals' haul helped Viet Nam secure a total of 68 golds, 63 silvers and 64 bronze medals – far beyond the country's expectations – after yesterday competition.

Tran Thi Luyen won the women's under-75kg weight division, while Le Dang Minh won a gold medal in the men's under-90kg division.

Wrestler Ha Van Hieu opened the seventh day with a gold in the men's 120kg class before his teammates Can Tat Du and Bui Tuan Anh took the title in the men's under-74kg and 66kg divisions, respectively.

Fencers Nguyen Thanh Van, Nguyen Thu Hien and Tran Thi Len took the gold in the women's team epee event – Viet Nam's fourth SEA Games gold in fencing.

Yesterday morning also saw scullers Nguyen Dinh Huy and Duong Thanh Binh finish first in the men's double sculls, while Chau Ba Anh Tu won the men's 5km swimming event.


The SEA Games will close on Tuesday.
