Operators of pet hotel services in Hanoi have received an increasing number of reservations for the Tet Lunar New Year Holiday.

Nguyen Son, owner of a pet hotel in Thanh Xuan District said that they had just upgraded their facilities and added more rooms to meet rising demand around the holiday. The man shared that his 80-room hotel has been nearly fully-booked during the Tet holiday.

"Despite rising demand, we're keeping our room rates the same as normal which range between VND170,000-250,000 per room per day," Son said. "We have clean and tidy rooms with heating systems and pet owners can watch their animals through cameras."

A pet owner, Pham Thuy Trang, said that she sent her four-year-old pet dog to Son's hotel every Tet so that she can have more free time visiting her family and friends during the holiday.

"Staying here my pet dog is given spa and physical activities," Trang said. "The hotel also provides a pick-up service that's very convenient for us."

To serve customers during the busiest season of the year, home pick-up services, playing with dogs and cats, and using heaters to keep pets warm are offered by many pet spa and hotel businesses.

Mrs. Le Thi Hang, who brought a dog to a pet spa for a bath said: "These days I were busy with a lot of work. Yet my daughter asked me to take care her dog."

This pet spa was very busy these days as the number of dogs and cats coming here for "beauty services" increased by several times compared to normal days.

Pet service prices increased from VND300,000-VND400,000/pet depending on their weight to VND400,000-VND500,000.

It takes about 3 hours to complete the service for each dog.

Ngo Thi My has been working for a pet spa establishment in Hanoi for 3 years. For about a week now she has been working all day. Each day she bathed and gave haircut to over ten dogs on average.
