VietNamNet Bridge – Photographer Gian Thanh Son has published his photo book featuring former President Nguyen Minh Triet during his overseas business trips.

The book cover.

“Integration Milestones” is the latest photo book by journalist, photographer and record maker Gian Thanh Son. The book includes photos taken from 2007 through 2010 at overseas trips of former President Nguyen Minh Triet.

Son said that the idea to make a photo book of the former President flashed in the first time he escorted Mr. Triet to the US. This time Son took the friendly hand-shake between Mr. Triet and US President, Geogre W.Bush, in the historic meeting in the US on June 18-24, 2007, which opened the new page in the relations between the two countries.

The bilingual book (Vietnamese – English) is 400 pages, with 345 photos, divided in three parts: Integration, Friendly Neighbors (Vietnam – Laos – Cambodia) and Vietnam’s imprint at international forums.

Former Deputy Prime Minister--Foreign Minister, Pham Gia Khiem, said that the book not only shows the occupational passion of a journalist, a talented artist but also reflects Vietnam’s diplomatic achievements in the time of integration and development.

The book and 150 photos will be introduced at an exhibition at the Rex Hotel in HCM City on August 26-28. The book will be sold at the exhibition to raise fund for poor students in Long An province, Son’s home town.

Photographer Gian Thanh Son was born in 1957. He has traveled to and taken photo in 60 countries. He made two national photographic records: who takes portraits of the highest number of politicians and who takes the highest number of photos from the air.

Son is working on the second volume of “Integration Milestones” which portrays Prime Minister, Nguyen Tan Dung in his business trips.
