VietNamNet BridgeA photo contest on the theme of Vietnamese-Japanese cultural exchange has been launched for both residents and visitors to Hoi An.

Entries can be either black-and-white or colour photos taken between 2003 and 2010 with full captions stating the title, location and date.

Each competitor can send up to 10 photos sized 13 by 18cm and 40 by 60cm to the Hoi An Heritage Management and Preservation Centre, 10B Tran Hung Dao St, Hoi An City or via email to nghiepvubaotang.hoian@gmail.com.

The deadline for submission is August 15. The awarding ceremony will be held on August 21 in Hoi An.

* Contest invites Vietnamese to sing in Korean language

A Korean pop contest has been organised for international contestants between the ages of 15 and 45 on November 26 in South Korea.

Vietnamese who want to join the contest should register by August 27 and have to sing Korean songs in Korean language.

The qualifying rounds will be held in Ha Noi and HCM City. Details of the contest can be viewed at htttp://vietnam.korean-culture.org.

* HCM City high school graduate wins singing contest

Au Nguyen Thanh Nguyen, a new graduate of HCM City's Le Hong Phong High School, has won this year's Tieng Ca Hoc Duong (School Singing) singing contest for senior and junior high school students.

The 18-year-old student performed Bong Hoa Trang (White Flower) by Luu Thien Huong and Ao Trang Den Truong (White Shirt for School) by Xuan Phuong at the final held at HCM City Television (HTV) Theatre on Saturday.

The second prize went to Phan Thi Thanh Nga of Binh Dinh Province. The 18-year-old student of Tang Bat Ho High School also won the audience's Favourite Candidate prize.

Two male students from HCM City, Nguyen Quoc Khanh of Nguyen Chi Thanh High School and Do Phu Qui of Bui Thi Xuan High School, received the two third prizes.

Tieng Ca Hoc Duong was begun by HTV in 2006 to provide healthy entertainment for young people during summer and provide an occasion for them to meet each other and showcase their talents.
