VietNamNet Bridge - With many decorative LED lights, the spring flower street along the Han River in the largest city in central Vietnam is sparkling at night, attracting thousands of visitors.

Bach Dang Spring Flower Street, themed ‘Da Nang – Brilliant Colours of Spring’, is located at the western bank of the Han river in Da Nang city. It will be lit from February 9 to 27 for the Lunar New Year (Tet) holiday.

The street is decorated and divided into six areas — scenery of sacred objects, village scenery, spring frame, rainbows in bloom, goat horn gate and spring gardens — based on both traditional and modern atmosphere, representing the flow from the past to the present and future.

The street is decorated with 20,000 flower baskets with 50 kinds of flowers, mostly raspberry daisies and colorful chrysanthemums, with yellow as the major theme colour symbolising warmth and prosperity.

This year’s event highlights a spectacular floral arrangement replicating a family of goats, this year’s zodiac sign, in a geometrical design.

Additionally, a LED lighting system, ‘Lighting Garden’, featuring three main decorative clusters and five huge glass towers, has been installed at the west end of Dragon Bridge for the Lunar New Year event.

Tran Hung Dao Street, along the eastern bank of the Han River, will also be colourfully decorated with a map of Vietnam affirming sovereignty over the Truong Sa (Spratly) and Hoang Sa (Paracel) archipelagos.

The Spring Flower Street was funded with VND 5 billion from the budget and is expected to attract 15,000 domestic and international visitors per day, said Chu Khanh Huong, VietArt Media’s Director of VietArt Media – Bach Dang flower street’s construction unit.
