According to verification by the Central Inspection Commission, the villa in Son Dong Commune, Ben Tre City with an area of over 16,500 square meters belongs to Mr. Tran Hoang Anh, a traffic police officer in Ben Tre Province, Truyen’s son. The ex-inspector explained that this villa was built at the cost of VND11 billion (over $500,000), including VND7 billion of his family and VND4 billion borrowed from Ms. Pham Thi Kim Anh, from HCM City.

The house No. 6, on Le Quy Don Street, Ward 1, Ben Tre City with a total area of 260 m2 (Truyen bought it in 2003 for nearly VND280 million – nearly $20,000) was hired by a beverage delivery firm for many years. This house has been revoked by the Central Inspection Commission because Truyen bought the house at soft prices under the incentive policy for those who deserved well of the country. Ben Tre authorities made mistakes in selling this house to Truyen.

A piece of land of 350 m2 on Nguyen Thi Dinh Road, Phu Khuong Ward, Ben Tre City was granted to Truyen by the Military Zone 9. According to the Central Inspection Commission, Truyen knew that he was not the subject for receiving the land but he still took it. He did not return the land at the request of the Ben Tre Provincial Party Committee and asked the local government’s permission to build a temporary house for his daughter-in-law.

This plot of land was revoked by Ben Tre authorities on November 19.

The house No. 105 on Nguyen Trong Tuyen Road, Ward 15, Phu Nhuan District, HCM City has been leased to sell fruit. In 2003, when Truyen moved to Hanoi to work, he asked the HCM City authorities to hire this house for his family, reasoning that his family could not afford to buy a house.

In March 2011, Truyen submitted an application to the city government presenting his family’s difficulties and proposed to buy this house for his daughter. However, Truyen and his family did not use the house but leased it.

The Central Inspection Commission has asked HCM City to revoke the house. At the time Truyen bought this  house, his wife owned a house in District 9, HCM City and his daughter owned a luxury apartment in District 5.
