VietNamNet Bridge – From the ninth to 11th month of the lunar calendar (November to January of the next year), oysters usually wash ashore in Thach Hai commune in Thach Ha district of Ha Tinh province in central Vietnam when the sea is rough. This is an opportunity for local people to make money.

Many families can earn up to VND10 million ($500) a day collecting oysters to sell to restaurants, said Mr. Nguyen Trung Chien, Chair of Thach Hai commune. 1kg of oyster is priced from VND10,000-VND15,000.
