The French naval ship Vendemiaire docked at Tien Sa Port in the central coastal city of Da Nang on November 15, beginning its five-day visit to Vietnam.
Captain Herve Siret, together with 94 officials and sailors, is scheduled to meet with leaders of the municipal People’s Committee and the Military Command, as well as participating in a friendly football match and joint training activities.
This is the third time the French naval ship makes a port call at Da Nang, with the last visit taking place in June 2010.
As part of the defence cooperation plan signed between Vietnam and France in 2014, the visit is expected to enhance the bilateral friendship, mutual understanding and trust, in line with the two countries’ policy to promote the bilateral strategic partnership.
