VietNamNet Bridge – Chefs from Saigon Morin Hue hotel on March 26 completed a 26-metre long banh tet (cylindrical glutinous rice cake) to celebrate the 40th anniversary of liberation of Thua Thien Hue central province.

The cake, measuring 20 metre in diameter, has a total length of 26 metres.  It will be sold for charity purpose. Proceeds from the sale will be donated to a charity fund under Hue SOS Children’s Village.

This event attracted the participation of more than 3,000 local residents and visitors.

Tran Van Tam, director of Saigon Morin Hue hotel said the making of the cake was also aimed at celebrating the 114th founding anniversary of Saigon Morin Hue – one of five age-old hotels in Vietnam.
