Border guards at Saigon Port deploy procedures aimed at supporting the World Odyssey - Nassau cruise ship successfully dock at Ben Nghe port in District 4 of Ho Chi Minh City on February 4
Border guards offer free medical masks to the approximately 1,000 tourists and crew members on board whilst they carry out strict supervision activities to prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus (nCoV)
Tourists and crew members are forced to pass through a second checkpoint.
According to a statement by the Ho Chi Minh City Border Guard Command, the cruise ship contains roughly 700 international students, teachers, and 174 crew members with the vessel originally scheduled to visit China on February 4 from Kobe port before arriving in Da Nang on February 10. These plans have been forced to change as a result of the impact of the nCoV epidemic with the ship instead docking in Ho Chi Minh City
Over the course of the coming days, Ho Chi Minh City is expected to launch a number of strict medical supervision activities over the international cruise ships that dock in the southern city to prevent the spread of acute pneumonia caused by nCoV.
