Visitors to the "pearl island" of Kien Giang province are aware of Sao beach, Dai beach, Hon Thom, but few people notice Ganh Dau, a cape protruding into the sea in northwest Phu Quoc Island, a rustic, peaceful destination that is loved by young people.
Ganh Dau is home to many fishing boats of fishermen in the North of the island with many beautiful and unspoiled beaches, and the surrounding is very quiet. To move to the northern area of the pearl island, from the airport, visitors go through Duong Dong town (about 30km away) then rent a motorbike or call a taxi (about 40 - 50 minutes).
To the north of Phu Quoc is An Thoi archipelago, a group of 15 islands. Thanks to its beautiful location and fresh space, An Thoi has attracted many investors. This will be the home to many amusement parks in the near future.

Coming to An Thoi, tourists often visit Hon Thom island, one of the most beautiful places in Phu Quoc, where there is a clear blue beach, stretching as far as the eye can see. The most ideal time to come here is the dry season, when the weather is completely dry, the average temperature is about 26-30 degrees Celsius, suitable for swimming, diving, fishing and exploring activities. There are many eye-catching rapids, coral forests and rare sea creatures at the bottom, especially in the north of the island. Therefore, Hon Thom is considered as one of the most beautiful diving places in Phu Quoc and becomes a favorite destination of many tourists. Photo: Vu Minh Quan.
The best time to travel to Hon Thom is from October to March. Photo: Quang Ngoc.
Gam Ghi island (also known as Dam Ngang island) is another option. This is one of 16 small islands located within a radius of 18km in the An Thoi archipelago (about 35km from the center of Phu Quoc). To get to Gam Ghi, visitors can take a boat or travel by canoe from An Thoi port.
In addition to Gam Ghi, Bai Dai in the northwest of Phu Quoc Island (located between the Gulf of Thailand and Vietnam) is also an ideal destination. The length of this beach is about 15km, starting from Ganh Dau cape to Cua Can. As Bai Dai locates near the primeval forest, the climate is very cool and pleasant. This is also the reason why Bai Dai always attracts a large number of tourists. What is especially attractive at Bai Dai is the change in the color of the sea water, sometimes blue, sometimes blushing, purple or jade. This is explained by the different shallowness of the sea. Rach Vem fishing village located in the east of Phu Quoc island is known by another name as "Starfish Kingdom". The reason is that from January to May, starfish often appear on the coast, creating a strange and beautiful image. Photo: Quang Ngoc.
