The island’s natural beauty, luxury resorts, and state-of-the-art conference centers make it an ideal location for international meetings and events.

In Vietnam, MICE tourists account for approximately 15-20% of total tourists, with numbers surging to 60% during peak months for certain large-scale businesses. While Vietnam has long been recognized for its potential in MICE tourism, limitations in infrastructure, particularly in conference centers, have hindered its growth.

However, Phu Quoc Island has recently emerged as a new paradise for MICE tourism (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Events), meeting all the essential requirements to become a top-tier destination for international events.

Superior visa policy

Phu Quoc Island is the only destination in Vietnam offering a special visa exemption policy.

Foreign nationals and Vietnamese with foreign passports can enter, exit, and stay on Phu Quoc without a visa for up to 30 days. Citizens from 13 countries, including Germany, France, the UK, Japan, and South Korea, enjoy unilateral visa exemption for up to 45 days, regardless of entry purpose.

This visa flexibility greatly simplifies logistics for MICE groups, ensuring smooth procedures for large delegations. As a result, Phu Quoc now hosts numerous international flights, with several daily connections to countries like South Korea, Thailand, Malaysia, and Kazakhstan.

Luxury resort system

Phu Quoc is among Vietnam's most breathtaking destinations, offering tourists the chance to bask in sunshine year-round while enjoying the serene beauty of its white-sand beaches.

Notable spots include Kem Beach and Sao Beach, both regarded as some of the world's finest beaches. Smaller islands, such as Hon Thom and Hon May Rut, boast pristine beauty and diverse marine ecosystems.

The island’s stunning natural landscape, combined with luxury resorts along the expansive beaches, makes Phu Quoc an ideal destination for MICE groups. The island is perfect for hosting team-building events and memorable outdoor parties.

Renowned resorts such as JW Marriott Phu Quoc Emerald Bay, New World Phu Quoc, Premier Residences Phu Quoc Emerald Bay and Premier Village Phu Quoc in Ong Doi Cape nearby offer a wide range of accommodation options.

Each resort is managed by prestigious international brands like Marriott International, Rosewood, and Accor, making them excellent choices for MICE events.

JW Marriott Phu Quoc Emerald Bay stands as a shining example of success in the MICE industry on Phu Quoc Island. It's no surprise that many Indian billionaires, including the renowned Rushang Shah and Kaabia Grewal, have chosen this venue to celebrate their weddings in grand style. The resort’s meticulous attention to detail, coupled with its luxurious ambiance, has solidified its reputation as a preferred choice for large-scale, prestigious events.

On the other hand, New World Phu Quoc offers a different kind of allure, where all rooms are villa-style with private pools. This creates an exclusive experience for guests seeking both privacy and luxury. Premier Residences Phu Quoc Emerald Bay, too, caters to a wide audience, providing 752 rooms at competitive prices without compromising on its 5-star standards, making it a smart choice for those looking for value without sacrificing quality.

The story doesn't end with the stunning accommodations, though. Resorts in the southern part of Phu Quoc have mastered the art of catering to a diverse range of visitors, including those from the most unique and specific markets. The dining options are truly global, with experienced chefs ready to prepare everything from international delicacies to specialized vegetarian and Halal meals. The staff, proficient in multiple languages, ensure that every guest feels at home.

This level of service has not gone unnoticed. In 2022, the South China Morning Post published an article praising Phu Quoc’s excellent English-speaking staff, further cementing its status as a world-class destination for international travelers.

Convention centers with large capacity

Phu Quoc’s resorts feature spacious conference facilities, designed to accommodate various event formats.

The Sun Signature Gallery in Sunset Town is an architectural masterpiece by Bill Bensley. This flexible space can host events ranging from workshops to gala dinners, enhanced by advanced lighting and sound systems.

The standout feature of the ballroom is its impressive capacity, accommodating up to 1,000 people, and its significant investment in both technology and aesthetics. The space can be adapted for various events, such as classes or workshops with a maximum capacity of 1,000 people, cocktail parties for around 800 guests, or dinner parties seating 550-600 guests.

The room's walls are adorned with thousands of handcrafted mica stones, and it boasts a vaulted ceiling reaching 22 meters in height. A stunning 500 kg chandelier, made with natural seashells and rare crystals, further enhances its elegance.

Additionally, the ballroom at Sun Signature Gallery features an advanced lighting system with intelligent controls, allowing for flexible 360-degree light direction. The state-of-the-art sound system and high-quality screens are designed to meet the standards for hosting any artistic performances or professional entertainment programs.

In October 2025, Phu Quoc will introduce the Sun Convention Center, managed by New World. With a capacity of up to 1,000 guests, this new venue will cater to the increasing demand for large-scale MICE events.

Diverse experiences

Beyond its luxurious accommodations and high-end conference facilities, Phu Quoc offers a wide variety of recreational experiences that are perfect for MICE groups.

The island’s golf courses, including the Eschuri Vung Bau 18-hole golf course, are popular among high-end groups, offering a mix of scenic views and challenging holes. For beginners, the Kem Beach Driving Range offers a more accessible option.
