The information was released at a working session on August 25 between Phu Quoc district People’s Committee and Phu Quoc International Airport Board of Directors and representatives of Okay Airwas and Korean Hanjin tourism company.

At the meeting the parties agreed to implement measures to promote Phu Quoc tourism in the RoK.

Phu Quoc introduced its incentives, such as visa exemption for foreign visitors, and infrastructure development policies, as well as coordination with the RoK to bring Korean visitors to Phu Quoc.

Phu Quoc People’s Committee leaders said they hope that Korean travel agencies and Okay Airwas will further accelerate close cooperation to keep the air route operating stably.

Okay Airwas and Hanyin Company will officially open the first flight to Phu Quoc in November in coincidence with Vietnam Airlines’ opening two international flights: Phu Quoc-Singapore and Phu Quoc – Siem Reap and the inauguration of five-star resort Vinpearl Phu Quoc.

VNA to launch direct routes from Phu Quoc to Singapore, Cambodia

The national flag carrier Viet Nam Airlines (VNA) has officially announced that it will launch two new direct routes to Singapore and Cambodia between November 1-30.

A new route from Phu Quoc Island to Singapore will operate two flights per week, using A321 aircraft.

A second new route from the island to Siem Reap (Cambodia) will have three flights per week with ATR 72 aircraft.

The VNA is launching special prices for return tickets on Phu Quoc-Siem Reap route with US$63 and on Phu Quoc-Singapore service with US$18. The program will be applied from August 20 to September 30.

Currently, Phu Quoc International Airport is operating flights to Ha Noi, Ho Chi Minh City and Russia and vice versa.

Jetstar to open new HCM City- Bangkok air route

Jetstar Pacific Airlines (JPA) on August 25 announced that it will launch a new air route between Ho Chi Minh City and Bangkok, Thailand as of December 10.

Flights will depart at 13:05 daily from Ho Chi Minh City with the return flight scheduled to depart at 15:20 from Bangkok the same day.

The airline plans to carry out an advertising campaign to promote the new route offering tickets at substantial discounts, including a number of free tickets beginning on August 26.
