VietNamNet Bridge – Nguyen Thi Thanh Phuc will represent Viet Nam in the 20km Asian Race Walking Championships on March 11 in Japan.

The 22-year-old aims to complete the race in one hour, 38 minutes which would qualify her for the London Olympics this summer.

Phuc won a gold medal in the event at the 26th Southeast Asian (SEA) Games in Indonesia last year with a time of 1:43.22.

Viet Nam is scheduled to participate in two international fencing tournaments in Russia next month.

The women will compete at the Moscow Sabre Grand Prix from March 15-17 while the men will take part in the Moscow Sabre World Cup from March 15-18.

The athletes will aim to secure their share of 204 berths available for the London Olympics.
