VietNamNet Bridge – Vo Thi Kim Phung secured her second title at the National Best Chess Masters Tournament’s which closed yesterday in Bac Giang Province.

The Asian champion triumphed in the women’s rapid chess event with 7.5 points, her second title after the standard chess event on Tuesday.

She was followed by Hoang Thi Bao Tram of HCM City and Nguyen Thi Mai Hung, also from Bac Giang.

On the men’s side, Le Tuan Minh of Binh Duong took the rapid crown with seven points after nine rounds.

Hoang Canh Huan of Da Nang and Nguyen Van Huy from Hanoi came second and third, respectively.

Nguyen Anh Khoi of HCM City, world youth rapid chess champion, performed poorly, finishing 11th with five points. On Tuesday he took the standard chess title.

The National Best Chinese Chess Masters Tournament also concluded yesterday in Bac Giang.

HCM City topped the competition with two golds. Can Tho came second with one gold, one silver and one bronze. Da Nang were third with one gold.
